Interventions

An intervention is a process used to help a loved one accept the help being offered to them.  With my background in working with individuals with mental health and substance use disorders, my intervention style is rooted in my clinical and professional training experiences.

The Intervention Process

Each intervention is unique to the individual and there is a lot of planning that goes into the process to maximize the potential for a successful outcome for all parties involved.

An intervention begins with identifying key members of the family system and pre-planning to provide a plan of action that can be successfully executed.  The intervention is utilized to get the identified client help but also provide treatment to the family system as well.

Typical interventions include:

  • Pre intervention planning meetings
  • Research on treament options
  • Assessment of client
  • Communication with identified treatment providers
  • Intervention Meeting
  • Post-intervention debriefing
  • Ongoing support
